"Phar Lap" By Stephen Mastare , 1977
Colour screenprint, monogrammed "E.D." in image lower left, 64.1 x 44.5cm. Repaired tears, missing portions and perforations, slight soiling and strikethrough from image verso. Linen-backed.
Text continues "'It's Cingalese for lightning, y'know?' APG with the assistance of the Australia Council and the Vic. Ministry for the Arts presents. March 11 to April 24, Pram Factory, 325 Drummond St, Carlton, 8pm. 3477133." Held in SLV.
Up to 1980, "the Pram Factory was the home of the Australian Performing Group, a democratically run theatrical collective. The group was at its pinnacle during the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll era of Carlton and revived a dreary Australian theatre scene." Ref: Bellamy (craigbellamy.net, 2003).
